Between 1928 and 1932, Ford produced their “New Car”, the Model A, in Canada. These popular vehicles were uniquely Canadian; join Ford restorer Charles Baetsen as he explores the standout features of the Canadian Model As, and why Henry Ford invested in Canada in the early days.  

This online talk will take place over Zoom and is part of the Canadian Automotive Museum's Third Thursday lecture series. These online talks are free and open to the public, but registration is required. The Canadian Automotive Museum is a registered Canadian charity and a suggested donation of $10 goes toward covering the cost of hosting these virtual events. Donors who make an annual contribution of over $25 will receive a charitable tax receipt. 

About Our Speaker

A member of the Just A’s Chapter of the Ford Model A Owners of Canada, Charles Baetsen worked at OPG until his retirement this past August. Charles's love of antique cars goes back to his childhood, a result of spending many a rainy Saturday afternoons watching old silent movies on TV such as the Keystone Cops, Charlie Chaplin, or other TV shows like The Waltons. In 2007 he purchased his own 1930 Model A and has since done a complete body-off restoration. He is pretty sure he knows nearly every bolt on that car now.
