Regina-based author and automotive journalist Dale Johnson will discuss his new book, The Last Best Car - The 67-X. The book tel ls the story of when legendary Hollywood car customizer George Barris was hired by Imperial Oil in Canada to create four exotic cars as prize giveaways at Esso service stations during Canada's 100th birthday in 1967. It was part of a promotional campaign to emphasize family travel by car, when Canadians were taking to the roads like never before in order to make the trip to the world's fair, Expo 67 in Montreal. George Barris also created the Batmobile and dozens of vehicles used in TV shows and movies. signing immediately after the presentation.
